Like
many of the customers we deal with today, we began selling
stock on the markets around the UK in around 1972. We were
constantly looking for stock to sell and were offered a
parcel of Ex Catalogue stock.
The parcel turned out to be full of just about anything
imaginable. When the goods arrived we realised that we had
purchased "customer returns" which included
named brand items of toys, household ,hardware, furniture
and electronics etc... Of course, some of these items did
not work or needed repairing but we didn't let that put us
off. The vast majority of the stock was working and
saleable items that cost a fraction of the normal retail
price and much less than any wholesale stock we had been
able to buy.
The reaction we had to the stocks on our local markets was
unbelievable, selling out every week. After a short time
word got around the regular markets about how cheap we
were selling stocks for, before long we were selling to
the other traders on the market before we even had time to
set up and sell to the public, this launched us into the
wholesale market.
We moved from market trading into our first retail outlet
not long after. From this first shop we opened another in
Buckley, still our current location, which was larger and
offered some warehouse space. As time passed we built up
our wholesale operation until we were left with no choice
but to find an even larger warehouse.
We were lucky to find a suitable warehouse not far from
our retail shop and began to concentrate on selling larger
quantities, both by the pallet and container loads. This
new warehouse gave us the opportunity to allow customers
who had never dealt with customer returns before to
inspect the goods before they purchased, something we were
never able to do.
Now, over 25 years later we are a limited company and
probably the largest dealer of ex catalogue stocks in UK
if not Europe. We have one main warehouse's which carriers
around 1,000 pallets at any one time. We supply both the
UK, European and international (export) markets.
We
stock thousands of pallets and have many direct container
lots available on a daily basis. We now also have a
network of dealers in key locations throughout the country
Even after 25 years we are still a family run and owned
business. We employ a talented and experienced team of
individuals ready to assist and address our customer's
needs. We are not here simply to fulfill orders, but also
to inform and educate our customers to help improve the
longevity and success of their business. Our customers
continue to place a great deal of faith and trust on us,
based on our delivering what is promised. Ultimately, if
their business is a success, we have a
customer for life.
Our customer base in the UK is diverse, from small market
traders to large exporters. We sell to businesses from the
Highlands of Scotland to Lands End in the UK. Many of our
customers have discount outlets, auction houses, or simply
sell on one of the hundreds of markets throughout the
country.
Others are exporters and importers form all over the
globe, we have supplied nearly every country in Europe and
beyond including most African countries and have a wealth
of knowledge to help customers looking to take our stocks
abroad. Thanks to the internet we are now also able to
offer our goods via our eCommerce package, which is
updated every hour, allowing a whole new customer base to
purchase Ex Catalogue stocks.
